Tinder remains the dating app that earns the most, with $457.5 million of direct revenue in the three months to June 2026 [1]. But the growth in the industry is elsewhere. Hinge's revenue rose 22% and Grindr's 33%, while Tinder, Bumble, Badoo and Match Group's smaller brands all had fewer paying members than a year earlier [1][2][3].

Source: Match Group [1], Bumble Inc [2] and Grindr [3] results for the three months to June 2026. Match figures are direct revenue. Payer changes for the Bumble app and Badoo are our calculation from the paying member numbers Bumble reports for both years [2].
At group level, Match Group earned $853.1 million, down 1%, from 13.3 million payers, down 6% [1]. Bumble Inc earned $210.5 million, down 15.2%, from 3.16 million paying members, down 16.4% [2]. Grindr's total revenue, including advertising, was $138 million, up 33% [3].
Tinder: biggest, but shrinking slowly
Tinder's direct revenue of $457.5 million was down 1% on a year earlier, and its 8.5 million payers were down 5% [1]. It kept revenue almost flat by earning more from each payer: revenue per payer rose 4% to $17.90 a month [1].
That is the pattern across much of the industry in 2026: fewer people paying, each paying a little more. It can hold revenue up for a while, but it narrows the base.
Hinge and Grindr: where the growth is
Hinge grew direct revenue by 22% to $203.5 million, with payers up 17% to 2.0 million [1]. It also earns the most from each payer of any app in the table, at $33.11 a month [1]. Hinge has positioned itself around relationships rather than casual swiping, and its numbers suggest members will pay more for that.
Grindr grew revenue by 33% to $138 million, including $25 million from advertising, up 44% [3]. Average paying members rose 16% to 1.4 million, and revenue per payer rose 12% to $26.51 a month [3]. It also reported 15 million average monthly active members and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 42% [3].
Bumble, Badoo and Match's smaller brands: the squeeze
The Bumble app's revenue fell 14.7% to $171.7 million, and Badoo and Bumble's other apps fell 17.1% to $38.8 million [2]. Paying members fell by a similar amount: the Bumble app had 2.08 million against 2.50 million a year earlier, and Badoo and other apps 1.08 million against 1.28 million [2].
Bumble's net loss for the quarter was $127.9 million, including a $169.3 million impairment charge [2]. Two months later, Bumble agreed to be taken private by Ithaca Holdings for about $1.3 billion [5].
Match Group's E&E segment, which includes Match, Meetic, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Pairs and Azar, lost 21% of its payers in a year, down to 2.7 million, and 17% of its revenue, down to $178.9 million [1].
Outside the US: Hello Group
Hello Group, which owns Momo, Tantan and happn, reports in Chinese renminbi and mixes dating with live video and social apps, so it is not directly comparable [4]. Its total net revenues for the second quarter of 2026 were RMB2,486.0 million (US$366.4 million), down 5.1% [4]. Tantan's paying members fell to 0.5 million from 0.7 million a year earlier, while overseas revenue grew 52% to RMB672.7 million [4].
How we built this table
- Period: the three months to 30 June 2026 for every company [1][2][3].
- Revenue: direct revenue (what members pay) for Match brands and Grindr, total revenue for the Bumble and Badoo lines. Advertising is excluded except where noted.
- Payers: each company's own definition. Match and Bumble report payers for the quarter, Grindr reports average paying members, so treat small differences with care.
- Revenue per payer: as reported by each company, per month.
- Missing: ParshipMeet (eharmony, MeetMe), Black Cap (Zoosk) and other private groups do not publish app-level revenue and payers.
