# New to apps. Not new to dating.

Dating API is the app edition of [DatingPartners.com](https://www.datingpartners.com), from a team with 25 years of building and running dating platforms. Platforms our team has built and run power 500+ dating sites. Dating API opens the same technology, safety team and members to native apps, starting with Dating Lab, our reference app.

**25 yrs** running dating products

**500+** dating sites on our platforms

**14m** member profiles across our platforms

**<0.3%** payment disputes across our sites

Reference app

## Dating Lab: because chemistry is not a swipe.

Dating Lab is our own reference app: a dating app for grown-ups who are tired of swiping, with a clear idea of what it wants to be: calm, considered and human.

Its old app held it back: slow, awkward to use and hard to change. Rather than rebuild a whole dating platform, the Dating Lab team rebuilt only what makes Dating Lab different, and put everything else on Dating API.

### Dating Lab kept

- **Crafted openers.** First messages written from the other person’s profile, with a refund if there’s no reply.
- **Daily Lab.** Six hand-picked people a day, with streaks.
- **Coins and Lab Membership.** Its own money and its own plans.
- **The look and the voice.** Every screen, every word.

### Dating API runs

- Accounts, profiles and photos
- Search, the deck, likes and matches
- Messages, photos and priority messages
- Automated photo screening, reports and blocks
- Government ID checks and the verified badge (from 30 November 2026)
- Emails, with links back into the app
- Backfill from the shared network

Less to run

Photo moderation, the ID vendor, real-time chat and the matching code all left Dating Lab’s own stack.

More to offer

Who viewed you, reactions, compatibility questions, similar people and priority messages came with the platform.

Members first, then backfill

Dating Lab members see each other first. Active members from the shared network fill the gaps, so nobody is shown dormant profiles.
